How Many Eyebrow Transplant Sessions are needed?
About 1/2 of our Eyebrow Transplant patients are satisfied with a single procedure and the remainder opt to return for a second procedure to increase the density. Typically the cost for the second procedure is less than the initial procedure.
Importance of Eyebrow Angle, Orientation, and Shape
Eyebrows frame the face and are very often one of the first and most important facial characteristics one notices when looking at an individual. It is crucial to have an in depth understanding of facial anatomy and eyebrow characteristics to create completely natural looking eyebrows.
The eyebrow hairs must be angled in the precise orientation depending on where in the eyebrow they are located. They must also be placed as close to parallel to the skin as possible. Finally, the shape of the eyebrows must follow the individual’s facial anatomy and be consistent with natural looking eyebrows.
It is not good enough to just create eyebrows with increased density, they must be completely natural looking eyebrows. They cannot look like a good eyebrow transplant, they can only look like great eyebrows!
Since the entire procedure is performed with the patient awake and only using local anesthetic, we typically place all the grafts in the first eyebrow and then critically evaluate the shape together with the patient. At this point we can make changes to the eyebrow shape by adding or taking away eyebrow hairs as needed. We then place all the grafts into the second eyebrow and evaluate it in the same way. This allows us to achieve the exact shape that the patient is looking to achieve.
